Leading By Example Pty Ltd is a management consultancy established in 2001. It is based in Adelaide, South Australia, but operates nationally. It has developed into two divisions:

• Leading By Example which focuses on providing advice and support to develop and improve leadership, teamwork and performance
• Leading Emergency Services which provides strategic advice to Emergency Services and other providers

Our Experience

The Principal

As an Army officer Stuart Ellis served around the world with the SAS Regiment, where he led teams through some of the most challenging situations anyone is likely to face. He was Commanding Officer and Chief Instructor of the Royal Military College Duntroon, the Australian Army officer training establishment. He has led small teams, SAS patrols, and large organisations, as CEO of the Country Fire Service with 16,000 volunteers and staff. He understands leadership beyond a theoretical knowledge of 'readership'. His approach is practical and he brings with him the credibility of experience. He is passionate about understanding and utilising leadership to gain the most from teams. In 2001 he established his own consultancy company focussed on leadership, teamwork and providing strategic advice to emergency services. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Graduate Diplomas in Management Studies and Strategic Studies. Other specialists are contracted to assist Leading By Example as required depending on the assignment.

Key Note Speaker

Bob Kearney is a key note speaker for Leading By Example. He spent 18 years as a Divisional Manager at Yatala Prison, in his own words 'two life sentences' before becoming a full time instructor for the Country Fire Service focusing on leadership and teamwork. He has authored three books, has a wealth of life experience and is able to share that through stories and lessons in his own unique and entertaining way. Bob is in strong demand and features in Leading By Example workshops and training days whenever available.
